The first time I tried a Croque Madame was at Le Café De Paris in the Dr. Phillips neighborhood in Orlando, FL. I quickly became of a fan of this French classic, a variation of the croque-monsieur by adding the egg on top. The photo of the day is my first Croque Madame earlier this year.

Croque Madame – grilled ham, tomato, and cheese sandwich topped with egg
The Croque Madame at Le Café De Paris was a perfect meal for a mid day brunch. I love how the egg oozes into the sandwich as you cut through and yolk spills on to each bite. Its almost like a comfort food, to be enjoyed on a sunny day eating al fresco or as a warm meal on a rainy or cold day. I actually ate this sitting outside in their outdoor seating area, a few tables available for customers.
Le Café De Paris offers Croque Madame, Croque-Monsieur, and several other sandwiches. The menu has a variety of quiches and other French baked items. They also serve homemade gelato and make good coffee. The restaurant is owned and operated by a very nice French couple and I will be back to try more of the menu…
