Azucar Ice Cream Company 1503 SW 8th St, Miami, FL – Ice creams at Azucar is made using high quality and natural ingredients, and they like to use locally grown, seasonal fruits.

Coral Gables

Further west of downtown Miami is Coral Gables, a upcoming food hub in the area.

West of Miami, but not quite in Coral Gables, you will find local restaurants off the beaten path with the cultural influences and cuisine from Cuba to Central America and South America Latin countries to the Caribbean countries in various neighborhoods.

Islas Canarias Cafe – Restaurant & Bakery 3804 Southwest 137th Avenue Miami, FL – This place is known for their Croquetas and have been voted the best in Miami. Go here for breakfast and for Cuban dishes.

El Mago De Las Fritas 5828 SW 8th St, West Miami, FL – another good spot for Fritas (Cuban style hamburgers), sandwiches, Cuban dishes, and Chicharrones on Saturdays!

Latin House Burger and Taco Bar 9565 SW 72nd St, Miami, FL. Known for their burgers, tacos, appetizers, full bar, and more this former food truck turned restaurant is stacking up local awards and recently filmed for the t.v. show Diner, Drive-ins, and Dives.

Tropical Chinese 7991 SW 40th St, Miami, FL – Supposedly the best Dim Sum in Miami, this has been a long time resident in Miami for Chinese food and Dim Sum. I still need to go here and try it.
