September Foodspotting Eatup Orlando at Ceviche Tapas Bar & Restaurant

Last weekend was the September Orlando Foodspotting Eatup at Ceviche Tapas Bar & Restaurant in Orlando, FL. Continuing the theme of discovering new international cuisines, I wanted to try a place that was easy to share plates with a large group of people. This month the FS eatup location was suggested by fellow food blogger @EatLocalOrlando for us to try Cevche’s Tapas that had an array of good tasting plates and that were great to photograph.

A few of us got there early, so we decided to start with a pitcher of white Sangria. Next we tried a pitcher of red Sangria, that accompanied our meal.

Chris from EatLocalOrlando gave me a quick tour of the Ceviche Bar in the center of the restaurant, where they prepare some of the Tapas dishes. This was my first time at Ceviche, and I was quite pleased to see the ingredients, the fresh seafood, and the meats hanging from this bar. I did not expect there was a place like this in Orlando, but now I’m quickly discovering there are. I hope all of the locals and tourists will visit these unique restaurants, outside the typical chain restaurants.

There was a group of a total of 14 people. Some left early, while others came later. The menu was extensive, but we were all able to order a few items and share them. We literally shared almost every plate, which was great for a group this size. When you sat down, there was food being passed to you. It was a really fun experience and we all got a taste of good food and of course take some photos.

Around the table, so many fun discussions about each other’s favorite food or favorite restaurants in different cities.

@iEatsbyJewelES, @Droolius, & Ang – No time for the entire group shot, but there’s some small group shots scattered here and there. It was a good time with good people.

There’s too much to write about each dish, so I will just give the name and description of each. You can try them for yourself when you visit Ceviche…

It was really all about sharing that evening and everyone was in the spirit to try each others dishes. Some items like the sweetbreads and some seafood dishes were not always given a shot, but I myself made sure to try each plate of Tapas. Ceviche Tapas Bar & Restaurant itself was a really good experience. The restaurant was completely busy and seems like a popular place to go to. About half the Foodspotting Eatup group had been here before, but some like myself it was for the first time. A good experience tasting all the food and being social with everyone.

Keep an eye out for the next Orlando Foodspotting Eatup event on Twitter or Facebook (links below). We are going to be discovering and spotting German cuisine and beer in celebration of Oktoberfest!
